Remember EFC in your Will

After you have remembered your family and friends, please think of the people helped by Elizabeth Finn Care by including a gift to us in your will.

Legacies form a significant proportion of our income and enable us to continue helping people struggling to make ends meet or being cared for in a residential care home.

Making a new will

Everyone who has property or possessions should make a will and keep it up to date.  If you die without leaving a will, the people you wanted to benefit may get less than you intended or nothing at all. If you have no relatives, your estate will automatically go to the Crown.  To make sure that your wishes are carried out, it is advisable to consult a solicitor.  A simple will can cost as little as £50

Leaving a legacy

If you have children and immediate family, you will want to secure their future first. Your solicitor will advise on how best to reduce your liability to inheritance tax and on the appointment of executors. If you decide to leave a legacy to Elizabeth Finn Care, the money left to a charity will be free of inheritance tax.

Your solicitor will help with the correct wording and procedures.

Updating your will

If you have already made a will, it is easy to change it or make additions to it.  Minor alterations such as leaving a bequest or a legacy to Elizabeth Finn Care can be made by a codicil, which is a formal addition to your will.

Do not change your will by crossing parts out or adding words as this may invalidate it.  If you want to change your will, your solicitor will draw up the necessary codicil for you to sign or click below to print a codicil form.
