Unsure if we can help you?

Asking for help isn't easy

We know that because it’s what most of our beneficiaries tell us.  Like many of the people we help, you’ve probably never claimed benefits before.  You are used to being independent and you don’t want to be a burden.

If you are having doubts about applying to us, this section will help.

You’ve got this far. Why not give it a go?   The thoughts and feelings of some of the people we've been able to help in the past, and those we are continuing to help today, may just give you the inspiration you need.

In You’re not Alone beneficiaries tell their stories and you’ll see they are people just like you. These are stories of people who have reached rock bottom, who lost hope, but who are now slowly rebuilding their lives.

Most applicants want to know the same things. We’ve listed the most commonly asked questions so why not see if some of yours are there?

Eligibility tells you briefly the circumstances we cover and to whom we can make grants.

Other charities and organisations might be able to help you too, in addition to or instead of EFC.  Go to Resources for details

You can also find out how to apply for a grant and print off a form with Apply for help.
